Position Description:

Volunteer First Responders provide emergency medical services to dispatched medical calls within Fort William First Nation. First Responders are tasked with responding to different types of traumatic medical calls and provide medical assistance where applicable according to your provided training. First Responders are also tasked with attending community events and providing medical coverage to community duties. First Responders are also required to maintain a professional standard at all times when operating under the team.

Responsibilities:

  • Respond to dispatched emergency calls within Fort William First Nation;
  • Provide medical coverage to scheduled public events;
  • Respond to disaster callouts when available to do so;
  • Attend all mandatory and required training, meetings and re-certifications;
  • Complete and manage all required documents, Call Reports, COVID Forms, Gear Record Forms and other forms where applicable;
  • Perform the duties prescribed above following all Standard Operating Guidelines and policies.

Qualifications:

  • Applicants must be at least 18 years of age or older;
  • Applicants must have access to a personal vehicle;
  • Previous medical experience or training is not required but considered an asset to the position.
